CHRISTIAN PELLVING bio picture

WELCOME!

My name is Christian Pellving and I  do a lot. It could be develop strategies, write and produce films and commercials, concepting ideas, project manage, photograph or copywrite.

But foremost it needs to communicate and tell a story or make you feel.

The media channel of choice is not the issue. The strategy and effect as a result is.

Currently working as Video manager at EF Education First, Zürich, Switzerland. I hope that you will keep an eye at my personal blog and at my galleries to find out more.

Maybe we even will communicate.

My precious iPhone

For almost 2 years now she has helped me through difficulties and provided me joy.

iphone

Been in my back pocket, front pocket. Five times fallen into the ground. Travelled in Malaysian heights. Buried in sand at Bali surf-beaches. Calling from humidity of Borneo jungle. In snow cold arctic weather of north of Sweden. Sleeping alone at night in a small igloo out on the porch. Pull through bad weather and rains. Twittering  in Cambodia, however very slowly, due to lack of fast speed mobile net. Finger-sketching round circles and solid colors and hearts. Playing car games. Helping tired parents out with movies for angry kids. Making kids happy playing musical instruments.

She has image-captured orangutang, my kids, a screen-capture, diving trip in Thailand,  pizza in Italy, champagne in Spain, view from 40th floor in Kuala Lumpur, hiking in Sylarna Sweden, snowscootering, boat-trips, lobster fishing, friends, lots of friends sleeping the day after the party, sunrise, visual notes. Lots of work stuff – you get the point.

I have always been positive about her and wishing that this could be it, for the rest of my life.  Thinking maybe – it´s possible. One mobile the rest of my life, like my leather man, a painting, Peli case or our best dinner set. Rest of my life.

One day I was going to take my kids out for a weekend trip with our boat, Tent, food, you name it was carried to the boat on the jetty, and my kids, girl 5yrs and boy 6yrs, walked in front of me towards the boat. Suddenly my daughter tripped and fell with her head right into the sea. I jumped to the place but couldn’t reach here, yes she was wearing lifejacket. So I jumped in the sea. My daughter was fine after changing to dry clothes.

But…, my iPhone was as wet as the rest of me.

Dripping and running wet phone… That was that, no more, gone. No spark, dead.

10 days later I took her out from the drawer and put her in the cradle. After a very long time she opened her eyes and took a screen-capture of her self, probably to see if all was ok, like how bad do I look this morning. And restarted again.

She is back! In the same shape as before, in fact, maybe a tiny bit cleaner.

My precious iPhone. Will you be with me until end of time? In some way she definitely will.

Next generation SR.se

- “Oh my, oh my, my, my.”

If I buy a car, it reflect my personality. If I buy jeans it reflects my personality. If I go for a trip it reflects my personality. What kind of dinner I make etc. So, of course what I do on the web or on my computer are linked to personalization. I have my documents in my order. I have my favorite sites bookmarked in MY way. As I write this on my blog and share it with you, it reflects my identity. You can read, and subscribe to my posts.Regarding a blog, I can personalize it in my way or in a template. It’s up to, you guessed right, Me. What music I listen to I share, what videos on youtube I like, I share. What links I like and keep, I share. What books…

I went to a presentation by Mats Åkerlund, former head of Sveriges Radio P3 and now head of SR new media(SR nya medier) a month ago. Thanks to the agency WJOS, who arranged this seminar, and Hugo who invited me.

Mats Åkerlund showed us the history of radio to end up in what we have today and that people now uses a computer or a mobile device to listen to radio. It’s no longer a radio-apparatus in the living room. It still is of course, but it gets less used or there are new ways of listening to SR. And not only listen to live sessions when they are actually broadcasted but after the live session and sometimes even before(pre-recorded) the live session in the FM channel. He also opened the question if the radio also should have a visual identity and maybe images on the web/mobile to utilize the medium further. He also saw the personalization as a new step to go, and told us that right now they are going to find a new agency to redesign and build a new sr.se web. It will be done in about 6 months.

My, identity, mine, I, share, you. Personalize.

I would like to take this opportunity  as a user to share my vision for the next gen SR.se to the agency and SR. I would also suggest you to add comments here or at twitter #nextsr so the product that they launch is what You need and wish for. The consumers needs more options to listen and get the information in their own way or theri freinds way. You pay your fee of 2 076 SEK a year to Radiotjänst right?

My wish-list with the new SR.se:

1.Create user accounts, with own pages. User info.

2.Share My radiostations I listen to.

3.Share The programs I’m listening to.

4.Share My favorites, extra extra nice programs and shows.

5.Personalize the graphics.

6.Twitter account integration. Both ways. sr.se – public.

7.RSS feeds. So people can get updates in a great manner. SR employees, the channel, personalized users, they all should be feeds.

8.Discuss, comments; Programs, Shows, My personalized version.

9.Music and song information of Titel and Band during music playing.

10.Search.

11.Top 100 personalized sr.se user pages.

12.Top 100 played songs this week per radio channel. I would strongly recommend to add favorite on these songs so the listeners can get a % to change the songlist accordingly.

13.Make it hardware/processor effective, adobe air is what I see not the option right now.

14.Podcast, itunes, iphone. ipod. List of user recent added, listened.

15.Texts. Many of the shows and programs are script based. Plays, sketches etc. Put the texts up. Content, provide more content. Is there a voice to text software?

16.Chats with radio personalities before live session. Add questions before, so they might end up in the show.

17.Mobil.sr.se A mobile version, live listening, connected to user account. mac, windows, android, symbia. All.

18.And finally: Don’t forget to make, and become even better on doing radio. You’re not a TV-channel. You are not a newspaper. SR:s strength is radio. Continue to be great at it.

Media Transparency

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

Media Transparency is the concept of determining how and why information is conveyed through various means.

This is a specific case of the topic, Transparency (humanities)[1]. As used in the humanities, it implies openness and accountability. It is a metaphorical extension of the meaning used a “transparent” object is one that can be seen through.

In communication studiesMedia is transparent when:

  • there are many, often competing, sources of information
  • much is known about the method of information delivery
  • the funding of media production is publicly available

Aspects of transparent media include open source documentation, open meetings, financial disclosure statements, the freedom of information legislation, budgetary review, auditpeer review, etc.

Some organisations and networks insist that not only the ordinary information of interest to the community is made freely available, but that all (or nearly all) meta-levels of organising and decision-making are themselves also published. This is known as radical transparency. These organizations include: Wikipedia, the GNU/Linux community, and Indymedia.

Sure, It will make more sense in the next post.

Next BIG Ning?

Social networks are all over the place. Yes they are. Even in Palawan, Philippines.

I´m still wondering if it’s a timekiller or actually good for the name it uses; networking. It’s fun, yes, but then, what?

Regarding communication between people, it’s usually best done one-on-one or in small groups. Maybe even behind closed doors. Then you reveal more and feel secure about it. The  discussions will have depth and evolve.

So, I think the idea with password protected and exclusive invites, just like Spotify was in the beginning, is the way to go. A contained and personal setting where there are rules depending on the social network, group topic or the issue.

You can create that at Ning, the next big thing.

Quote #4

I think Bob Hoffman is a genius.

“If the message is right, who cares what screen people see it on? If the message is wrong, what difference does it make?”

Quote #3

This is a quote thats new and will be out of date early, but has a lot of power today.

“If you are a marketing professional who wants to reach your buyers directly, you will likely encounter resistance from corporate communications people.

They’ll say the old rules are still in play. They’ll say you have to focus on “the four P’s”. They’ll say you need to talk only about your products. They’ll say that the media is the only way to tell your story and that you can use press releases only to reach journalists, not your buyers directly.

They’ll say that bloggers are geeks in pajamas who don’t matter. They are wrong.”

David Meerman Scott

Never sung a song. But never is not a word I like.

Here it is. From my bottom om my heart, I tried. I tried hard. To sing. Had great backup but didnt really deliver. It was fun, so maybe I´ll try it again…
